WBÖ – Lexicographic Editor

The WBÖ – Lexikographic Editorial Tool is a software application that was developed to meet the editorial and technical requirements of lexicographical work in the WBÖ – Project Cluster. It is an XML editor that is specially adapted to the WBÖ article structure. Input takes place via a user-friendly mask in which all article positions and the individual content elements are predefined. However, direct editing of the XML entries is also possible. In addition, the editing tool has a preview function that corresponds to the display of dictionary articles on LIÖ. 
The editing tool was developed in the open source framework Electron and is based on web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS. This means that the application is independent of the operating system and can, in principle, also be adapted for other projects. All articles are stored in a Git repository and can be accessed directly from there for online rendering on LIÖ.
