Mapping On- and Offline Identifications of Urban Religious Youth

The interdisciplinary explorative research project YouBeOn investigates how young people’s religious lives are played out in online and offline spaces, in order to reconceptualize the diversity and complexity of belonging. The project asks how young religious people negotiate their multiple affiliations in very diverse urban environments online and offline, and uses innovative methods and digital tools to answer this question.

The ACDH-CH is responsible for the technical implementation and is developing a web application that visualizes connections between physical locations, online activities and individual constructions of belonging.
