Due to the strong interest in the pan-European infrastructure DARIAH (short for Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities), the ACDH-CH and its staff members have endeavoured to translate the European developments and initiatives into fruitful activities at the national level. By identifying possible cooperations and exploiting potential synergies, they have developed the institute into the central hub for digitally rooted humanities research in Austria, forming a tightly knit network of interested research groups and individual scholars to realize visible and sustainable developments (see also CLARIAH-AT).

The ACDH-CH and its staff are involved in several DARIAH-related activities. Matej Ďurčo acts as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for DARIAH and Tanja Wissik as deputy national coordinator for the Austrian DARIAH activities. In addition, the ACDH-CH participates in the DARIAH Joint Research Committee (JRC) and staff members co-lead DARIAH Working Groups (e.g., DH Course Registry WG, Community Engagement).

The ACDH-CH also participates in the development, provision and curation of some of DARIAH’s core services such as the DH Course Registry and DARIAH Campus
