THANADOS – The Anthropological and Archaeological Database of Sepultures

THANADOS is an online repository of all sepultures in nowadays Austria, dating to the Early Middle Ages (ca. 600–1100). It combines the three disciplines archaeology, anthropology, and digital humanities.

OpenAtlas, a database software developed at the ACDH-CH, is used as a backend or recording, processing, and managing data. The web application based on OpenAtlas makes it possible to explore the case studies freely accessible online. It contains visualizations and allows data sets to be downloaded.
