Biography


Ioannis Brigkos studied Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies (BA & MA) at the University of Vienna and is nearing the completion of his doctorate there. His academic focus is on European contemporary history, specializing in political and diplomatic history. He has taught courses on Modern Greek language and the Cold War in Greece at the University of Vienna’s Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies. He has also been a research fellow at Freie Universität Berlin and an exchange student at the University of Athens. He has participated and organized many international conferences and workshops.

Since August 2024, he has served as the conference manager for EUGEO 2025 at the ISR.
