Kinematic Aspects of Robotics

Description

Since the configuration space of a robot can be described by algebraic equations and the forward kinematic map can be described as an algebraic map, many problems in robot control that involve kinematics can be treated with computer algebra. The size of many problems arising in this way is often just inside, or slightly beyond, what is possible today. Many researchers in both fields (kinematics and computer algebra) are working on pushing the boundaries.
