| Summary: | The effects of the new pandemic reality have been reflected in many areas of human lives, amongst them in everyday language. The focal point of the contributions in this anthology are different linguistic phenomena that can be observed in the current corona discourse and that characterize it. Most of the contributions focus on the German language, although one can also find contrastive German-Polish studies and studies concerning other languages (e. g. English, Polish, Russian, Czech). Among other things, lexical peculiarities of the corona discourse, metaphors and expression of emotions, selected sub-discourses on the corona pandemic, multimodal texts in the corona discourse, the interweaving of the corona discourse with politics and advertising, humour in the corona discourse are discussed. |
