Anhand nicht mehr dramatischer Theatertexte (u.a. von Martin Crimp, Elfriede Jelinek) sowie postdramatischer Inszenierungen und Performances (u.a. von Bobby Baker, Christoph Marthaler, Nicolas Stemann) arbeiten die Beiträger_innen dieses Bandes das Verhältnis von Alterität und »postdramatischer« Theaterästhetik im Hinblick auf Geschlecht, Ethnizität und körperliche »Normalität« heraus. Dabei entstehen neue Blickweisen auf die Charakteristika des postdramatischen Theaters: Es reflektiert über den Fiktions- bzw. Konstruktionscharakter alles Wirklichen und schafft einen Erkenntnisraum, der den Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauern die soziokulturelle Konstruktion gesellschaftlicher Normen sowie deren psychische Verankerung und körperliche Manifestation im Subjekt bewusst macht.
