520 |a Trotz Krisen bleibt die Reiselust der Menschen ungebrochen. Tourismus ist ein immanenter Bestandteil von Freizeit, aber auch Berufsalltag. Seine ökonomische Bedeutung ist nicht hoch genug einzuschätzen, da er vielen Regionen zu Beschäftigung und Einkommen verhilft. Erfolg und Stärke der Tourismuswirtschaft sind allerdings keine Selbstläufer. Vielmehr ist Tourismus ein politisch beeinfl usstes und politikabhängiges Phänomen. Dennoch ist Tourismuspolitik, welche die wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und ökologischen Rahmenbedingungen des Reisens formt, in vielen Ländern (auch in Deutschland) – gemessen an der hohen ökonomischen und gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung – unterrepräsentiert. Dieses Buch thematisiert – unter Verwendung eines politikwissenschaftlichen Zugangs und stets begleitet von anschaulichen Beispielen und Exkursen – die vielseitigen Aufgaben, Entscheidungsprozesse und Akteure sowie Handlungsfelder der Tourismuspolitik und analysiert deren aktuelle Herausforderungen (Corona, Overtourism, Klimawandel). Es richtet sich an Studierende der Tourismus-, Politik- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften sowie Touristiker und Politiker, aber auch Akteure der Tourismusverbände.
