Spécialistes dans ces domaines, les auteurs se sont efforcés de retracer brièvement le chemin parcouru ces dernières décennies pour présenter plus en détail la situation actuelle. Appartenant à plusieurs générations de romanistes, ils ont eu toute liberté quant à la méthodologie et au concept utilisés dans leurs contributions. Cet ouvrage se comprend comme un complément actualisé des présentations du LRL et de la RSG.
