• Notes: This squeeze is one of the very few in the Glaser collection which was taken from a bronze plaque rather than an inscription carved in stone. Although Höfner (1944: 37) [bib:N4ZHS9UW] gives Ṣirwāḥ as the provenance of the inscription from which this squeeze was taken, there is no doubt that the inscription comes in fact from Haram in Wādī al-Jawf, a site at which similar inscriptions dating from about the same period have been found.

1.Ḥarîm bin Thawbân confessed and did2.penance to Dhû-Samâwî, because he had approached3.a woman during her forbidden period and had intercourse with a menstruating woman;4.and because he had entered a woman in childbed; and because5.he had entered while impure, and he stayed in his6.impure clothes; and because he had had contact (lit. " touched ") a woman7.while she was on her period and he did not wash himself; and because he had8.defiled his clothes with semen; and he showed contrition9.and distress and he will pay a fine. And may he be generous.
