This digital historical-critical edition, based on the first edition of Bernhard's play published in 1988 in the Bibliothek Suhrkamp (BS 997), reproduces Bernhard's most spectacular drama in terms of its impact, with all the textual stages and transcriptions that have been preserved by the Thomas Bernhard Estate.
Following the model of the edition of "Wittgensteins Neffe" (2021), the full texts that have been annotated based on the current TEI guidelines, are made accessible through commentaries and indexes on persons, places, institutions and events. Reports and reviews from the most important media sources are bibliographically cited and visualized in an interactive timeline.
