- Diese Arbeit untersucht das Leben und Werk von Adolf Reichel und beleuchtet analytische und ästhetische Aspekte. Reichel beteiligte sich an den künstlerischen Problemstellungen seiner Zeit, wie seine Werke zeigen. Er bevorzugte klassische und historische Muster und lehnte Einfachheit mit Uniformität ab. Reichels Musik, geprägt von Chromatik und komplexer Tonalität, richtet sich weniger an die breite Öffentlichkeit als an spezialisierte Kreise. Seine Werke reflektieren historische und politische Kontexte und stehen im Gegensatz zu den progressiven Strömungen seiner Zeit. Reichel schätzte die traditionelle Kompositionstechnik und war skeptisch gegenüber den "neuen Richtungen". Am Ende seines Lebens erkannte er jedoch die Begrenztheit seiner früheren Überzeugungen an und schlug eine Versöhnung über künstlerische Differenzen hinweg vor. Reichel betonte, dass das Urteil über sein Werk letztlich der Geschichte überlassen sei, und gestand die Widersprüche zwischen seiner konservativen Kunstauffassung und seiner Sympathie für revolutionäre Bewegungen ein.
- This thesis examines the life and work of Adolf Reichel and sheds light on analytical and aesthetic aspects. Reichel was involved in the artistic problems of his time, as his works show. He favoured classical and historical patterns and rejected simplicity with uniformity. Reichel's music, characterised by chromaticism and complex tonality, was aimed less at the general public than at specialised circles. His works reflect historical and political contexts and stand in contrast to the progressive trends of his time. Reichel valued traditional compositional technique and was sceptical of the ‘new directions’. At the end of his life, however, he recognised the limitations of his earlier convictions and proposed a reconciliation across artistic differences. Reichel emphasised that the judgement of his work was ultimately left to history and admitted the contradictions between his conservative view of art and his sympathy for revolutionary movements.
