Summary: | It is well-known that the 18th Century "Encyclopedism" took many forms and circulated them through very different channels. Contributions focus first on the press ( Journal encyclopedique, Journal historique et litteraire, Journal general de l'Europe ) and then the publications such as Encyclopedie portative (Boubers), Cyclopedia (Chambers), Encyclopedie (Diderot and d'Alembert), Dictionnaire universel (Robinet), etc. Special attention is given to printers (J.-J.Tutot) and the counterfeiting and literary piracy. Finally the contents of various private libraries in Liege and of the papers submitted for the contests organized by the Societe d'Emulation are scrutinized for tracks and influences of "Encyclopedism."
