Mass Spectrometric Proteomics / edited by Paolo Iadarola. Basel : MDPI - Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2019. ©2019 1 online resource (ix, 192 pages) : illustrations text txt rdacontent computer c rdamedia online resource cr rdacarrier Description based on publisher supplied metadata and other sources. As suggested by the title of this Special Issue, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry plays a pivotal role in the field of proteomics. Indeed, the research and review articles published in the Issue clearly evidence how the data produced by this sophisticated methodology may promote impressive advancements in this area. From among the topics discussed in the Issue, a few point to the development of new procedures for the optimization of the experimental conditions that should be applied for the identification of proteins present in complex mixtures. Other applications described in these articles show the huge potential of these strategies in the protein profiling of organs and range from to the study of post-translational tissue modifications to the investigation of the molecular mechanisms behind human disorders and the identification of potential biomarkers of these diseases. Includes bibliographical references. About the Special Issue Editor -- Preface to "Mass Spectrometric Proteomics" -- Special Issue: Mass Spectrometric Proteomics -- Urinary Proteomics Profiles Are Useful for Detection of Cancer Biomarkers and Changes Induced by Therapeutic Procedures -- Proteome Investigation of Rat Lungs Subjected to Ex Vivo Perfusion (EVLP) -- Construction of a Quantitative Acetylomic Tissue Atlas in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) -- Optimisation of Milk Protein Top-Down Sequencing Using In-Source Collision-Induced Dissociation in the Maxis Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer -- Comparative Proteomic Analysis of Rana chensinensis Oviduct -- Comparative Targeted Proteomics of the Central Metabolism and Photosystems in SigE Mutant Strains of Synechocystis sp.
