In 1420, the island of Korčula on the Dalmatian coast (today in Croatia) came under the administration of Venice. And we come to understand that between the all-powerful Venice, only represented by a governor who ignores the local language, and this small world of peasants and sailors himself deeply divided, it is a whole game of permanent negotiations that regulate the life of the island and its inhabitants.
