It is remarkable that there has only been little research on illustrations as a decisive element of children's bibles though. In this book the author responds to this desideratum and develops a systematic approach that enables us to analyse pictorial conceptions relevant for both a whole children's bible and a single illustration by itself. The author distinguishes a variety of intentions and functions of pictures. These newly developed pictorial conceptions contribute to interpret illustrations in old and new children?s bibles in a fresh and surprising way. | ||
