This German-French volume is an interdisciplinary approach on the relation of bodies and boundaries. The contributors analyse both historical and contemporary demarcation processes. Additionally, they focus on different aspects of human bodies within their limits as well as physical experiences with territorial boundaries. Here, both German-French objects and references on "German" or "French" theories and concepts play a major role. The first part focusses on the transgression of boundaries, their materiality and aspects of their violation. The second part deals with the production of boundaries through physical-spatial practices. The third part concentrates on boundaries as practices of difference.
