Description
Summary:The Interdisciplinary Journal for Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society - J-RaT is an interdisciplinary, international peer reviewed, open access journal. The objective of the journal is to contribute to the academic debate on the influence of religions on political, cultural and spiritual dynamics in globalised societies, and also, conversely, to discuss the impact of societal transformation processes on contemporary religions and religious forms of expression. An interdisciplinary approach takes this interplay between religion and societal change into account. Such an approach requires the combined endeavours of different academic disciplines to open up an interdisciplinary sphere of research both for theologies of different denominations and religions (Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Islamic, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, etc.) as well as for religious studies, religious philosophy, sociology of religions, law, social sciences, Jewish studies, Islamic studies, Indology etc. The editors of the J-RaT comprises members of the Research Centre Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society (RaT). An international editorial board supports cooperation among scholars and guarantees both a wide sphere of research as well as a corresponding dissemination strategy. Frequency of publication: JRT is issued twice yearly (July / December), with 5-10 contributions per issue. The languages of publication are German, English, Spanish or Italian.
