Summary:The two volumes are dedicated to Alessandra Contini Bonacossi from the "Archive for the memory and writing of women", which has been named after her since 2007. They include a biographical profile, enriched by the list of her numerous publications, followed by thirty-two essays written by scholars who have shared with her cultural ideals and interests of research and study and the writings of her family members who make up the "family album. In the collection, in addition to the variety of themes dealt with over a wide chronological span - the essays range from the Middle Ages to the contemporary age - historiographical and interpretative reflection on documentary, iconographic, literary sources and themes such as Medici diplomacy, the Lorraine age dominate. and gender history, in an area of ​​which Alessandra has made important contributions with her studies. The Association "Archive for the memory and writing of women", founded in 1998 by the decisive impulse of Alessandra Contini, and since then hosted by the State Archives of Florence, has achieved in these twenty years multiple results in research, enhancement and study of women's writings, starting from the census carried out in public and private archives, libraries and cultural institutes, wide-ranging conferences, up to a conspicuous production of publications in dedicated editorial series.
