Description
Summary:The delays afflicting the Italian economy in the most technologically advanced productions constitute an aspect of the debate on the risks of the country's decline. However, we know little about the diffusion in Italy of companies specialized in information technologies. The research presented in the book - the result of a national project - shows how small businesses are particularly present in these sectors, concentrated in some urban areas (the cases of Pisa, Florence, Turin, Osimo and Castelfidardo are examined). It turns out that the social networks that connect entrepreneurs and university researchers are crucial for understanding innovation processes.
