The new multidisciplinary study area of ​​wind engineering was born as a response to the design and construction needs of increasingly daring infrastructures: the lighter materials and the dimensions have made many projects sensitive to the action of the wind and therefore it is necessary to study the applied fluid-dynamics, aero-dynamics of bodies and aeroelastics also for the civil engineering sector.
