Description
Summary:The volume, in which thirty-four scholars and trade unions have collaborated, has a dual purpose: to re-propose, in the current phase of social transformations and theoretical uncertainties, the analyses and theses on the human and political meaning of work contained in the main book by Bruno Trentin , The city of work (II ed., Firenze University Press, 2014); and, in the belief that the pages composed in 1997 by one of the greatest exponents in the history of the CGIL represent a 'classic' of the political-social thought of the twentieth century, to promote a reflection that tests its fruitfulness and relevance in order to deepen the processes that opened the 21st century. The result that emerges, in many ways surprising, is the extraordinary richness and capacity of political and trade union direction of the Trentin project.
