This volume brings together a selection of articles that have appeared in newspapers across the country over more than twenty years. The idea of ​​publishing it occurred to me when I realized the possible interest, for the reader, of having in one volume articles motivated by aspects of the changing situation in which we are going, on a global level, from the Cold War to the collapse of socialism and the affirmation from globalization and, at the national level, from the authoritarianism of the 1964 regime to the vacillations of the process of political opening and transition and the full functioning of democracy - which may even result, with the 2002 elections, in the access of a leftist leadership to presidential power.
