In addition to providing an overview of the process leading up to the adoption of the Constitution, this book brings together information relating to each section of the Bill of Rights, presenting: progressive texts produced during the process of the Constituent Assembly; highlights of the arguments put forward within the Constituent Assembly concerning the draft provisions, including alternative proposals advanced; submissions made by Timorese officials, civil society and international bodies; and the results of consultation with the broader community before and during the constitutional process. It is designed to be useful in particular to judges and legal practitioners called upon to interpret the Constitution, government officials and civil society actors involved in human rights work, as well as students of history and constitutional law in Timor-Leste and internationally.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="504" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Includes bibliographical references.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Description based on print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Human rights</subfield><subfield code="z">Timor-Leste.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Civil rights</subfield><subfield code="z">Timor-Leste.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Political participation</subfield><subfield code="z">Timor-Leste.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Nation-building</subfield><subfield code="z">Timor-Leste.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Constitutional history</subfield><subfield code="z">Timor-Leste.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Timor-Leste</subfield><subfield code="x">Constitutional history.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Timor-Leste</subfield><subfield code="x">Politics and government</subfield><subfield code="y">2002-</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="610" ind1="1" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Timor-Leste.</subfield><subfield code="t">Constituição (2002).</subfield><subfield code="n">Parte II.</subfield><subfield code="p">Direitos fundamentais, direitos, liberdades e garantias fundamentais.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">bill of rights</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">timor-leste</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">constitution</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">human rights</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">constitutional law</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">East Timor</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Fretilin</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="710" ind1="2" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Australian National University,</subfield><subfield code="e">publisher.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Soares, Adérito Jesus de,</subfield><subfield code="e">author of introduction, etc.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="z">1925022382</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="906" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">BOOK</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="ADM" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="b">2024-04-20 04:29:22 Europe/Vienna</subfield><subfield code="d">00</subfield><subfield code="f">system</subfield><subfield code="c">marc21</subfield><subfield code="a">2015-07-11 20:43:07 Europe/Vienna</subfield><subfield code="g">false</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="AVE" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">DOAB Directory of Open Access Books</subfield><subfield code="P">DOAB Directory of Open Access Books</subfield><subfield code="x">https://eu02.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/view/uresolver/43ACC_OEAW/openurl?u.ignore_date_coverage=true&portfolio_pid=5338705910004498&Force_direct=true</subfield><subfield code="Z">5338705910004498</subfield><subfield code="b">Available</subfield><subfield code="8">5338705910004498</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |
