Summary: | As at the turn of the 20th century, the objectivity of historical knowledge has recently been questioned. In their objectivity-skeptical arguments, the predominantly “postmodern” oriented authors base themselves on the essentially narrative and perspective character of historiography. In “Historical Knowledge Between Objectivity and Perspectivity” historical objectivity is to be defended, but without being limited to a mere destruction of the critique of objectivity. Rather, some of their insights must be taken seriously, although their conclusions need not be affirmed. The objectivity of historical knowledge is defended in one go with the perspective character of history. |
