Summary:This work analyzes the role of the Argentine liberal-conservative intelligentsia before the last dictatorship, the "Process of National Reorganization" (1976-1983). The book studies the positions and interventions of a group of fourteen actors: Álvaro Alsogaray, Alberto Benegas Lynch, Germán Bidart Campos, Horacio García Belsunce, Jorge Luis García Venturini, Mariano Grondona, Juan Segundo Linares Quintana, Mario Justo López, José Alfredo Martínez de Hoz, Víctor Massuh, Jaime Perriaux, Ambrosio Romero Carranza, Carlos Sánchez Sañudo and Ricardo Zinn. The choice of these names implies considering a wide range of trajectories that make up intellectual figures of diversity, united, however, by many more links than political affiliation. The work penetrates into the political-intellectual history of an ideological space still little explored since the studies on the intelligentsia, the rights and the dictatorship itself, replacing the various spaces occupied by these men, their projects, coincidences, controversies and disappointments at a key moment in Argentine history.
