Description
Summary:Entries have always offered a valuable contribution to our knowledge of public, social, economic and cultural life in ancient Rome. Emphasizing the importance of epigraphic documentation, specifically highlighting the contribution it provides to the knowledge of the political dynamics of the Roman world is the aim of the essays collected in this volume. The contributions touch upon themes ranging from the study of the Fasti and triumphal inscriptions to imperial politics, from the role of the municipal elites to the policy of integration and granting of citizenship, up to the meaning that the ancient authors themselves attributed to the epigraphic document.
