Summary:This work aims at shedding light on the corpus or fragments of Ancient Comedy, which is often overshadowed by Aristophanes’ eleven extant comedies. It presents the first annotated translation into Portuguese of the fragments of Aristophanes and of their sources.This volume also contains an introductory study dedicated to these sources, the context in which the excerpts appeared and how they were transmitted. It brings together and organizes useful information on lexicography and deals with the reception of Aristophanes in Antiquity.
