Description
Summary:eng: The basis is a historical summary of the Jewish communities in Usbekistan since their formation and the life-histories of some Jewish emigrant- families of the cities Taschkent, Fergana, Buchara and Duschanbe. The investigation contains living conditions and the way of life of these families, whose social situations (profession, accomplishments, accomodation, environment, religion, politics) in the former Soviet Union have been the motives for the first emigration to Israel and the reasons for the second emigration to Vienna. These families lived in an Islamic environment in the former Soviet Union, in a Jewish environment in Israel, and today they live in a Christian-Catholic environment in Austria. These circumstances changed their family structure, their work and their social situation. This work is structured in three parts: circumstances in: -the former Soviet Union; -Israel; -Vienna. Method of working: oral history.
