ger: Die Arbeit ueber den ungarisch-oesterreichischen Komponisten Ivaen Eroed (geb. 1936) ist in drei Teilen angelegt. Der erste Teil enthaelt eine biographische Darstellung, wobei historische, kulturelle und soziale Hintergruende einbezogen werden. Den Ausgang bildet ein Ueberblick ueber die Situation des Judentums in Ungarn, Eroeds Kindheitsjahre sowie die rassische Verfolgung der Familie waehrend des zweiten Weltkrieges. In Entsprechung dazu werden die spaeteren Jugendjahre und die musikalische Ausbildung an der Budapester Musikhochschule vor dem Hintergrund des kommunistischen Regimes beleuchtet. Weitere Kapitel gelten dem ungarischen Volksaufstand von 1956 und Eroeds Emigration nach Oesterreich, Neubeginn und musikalischer Ausbildung in Wien, der Teilnahme an den Darmstaedter Ferienkursen, der Arbeit als Korrepetitor, Konzertpianist und Lehrer fuer Tonsatz bzw. Komposition sowie dem Privatleben. Eine Einfuehrung zu Eroeds Kompositionsprinzipien und Charakteristika seiner Werke leitet in den zweiten Teil ueber, der eine komplette Auflistung der Werke Eroeds mit Daten zu Entstehungsprozess, Besetzung, Satzbezeichnungen Dauer, Widmung, Urauffuehrungsangaben, Aufbewahrungsort der Manuskripte, Verlag sowie teils kurze, teils detailierte Analysen zu jedem Werk enthaelt. Der dritte Teil besteht aus den ueblichen Anhaengen, wobei u.a. auch eine Auflistung von Eroeds Auftritten als Pianist, eine Diskographie der Werke Eroeds sowie faksimilierte Dokumente (Urkunden, Zeugnisse, Briefe) enthalten sind.

eng: The thesis deals with the life and music of the Hungarian-Austrian composer Ivan Eroed (b. 1936) and consists of three parts. The first part is a broad biographical description, including historical, cultural, and social backgrounds. It starts with a survey of the situation of the Hungarian Jews, Eroeds childhood, and the racial persecution of his family during World War II. His later youth and musical education at Budapest High School of Music are shown against the background of the communist regime in Hungary. Other chapters deal with the Hungarian national uprising in 1956 and Eroeds emigration to Austria, the new start of life and musical education in Vienna, the participation in the Darmstadt International Summer Courses, the work as vocal coach, pianist, and teacher for music theory and composition, as well as a comprehensive description of private life. An introduction to Eroeds composing principles and characteristics of his music leads to the second part, which contains a complete listing of Eroeds works with facts to history of composition, instrumentation, duration, dedication, details of the first performance, depository of the manuscript, publisher, and partly short, partly detailed analytical comments to each work. Third part consists of usual appendixes, and includes also a list of Eroeds concerts as a pianist, a discography of his works, and facsimiled documents (diplomas, certifications, letters).
