Description
Summary:eng: The thesis examines the criticism articulated against white feminists by U.S. and Canadian black feminists and women of color since the early 1970s from a white feminist ethnological viewpoint. The first main part of the thesis provides a comprehensive presentation of this criticism and classifies the intrinsic points at issue into subjects that are fundamental to feminist ethnology. The second main part of the thesis examines whether black feminist and women of color arguments against white feminists are also justifiable concerning ethnological women studies, gender anthropology and feminist ethnology. The thesis also discusses preconditions for constructive dialogues between black feminists, women of color and white feminist ethnologists, addresses possible ways of conflict resolution. It also provides an outlook on the task ahead for that purpose in general and presents proposals to develop feminist ethnology in particular.
