ger: Die vorliegende Dissertation mit dem Titel "Johann Baptist Bohadsch und die naturgeschichtlichen Ergebnisse seiner Forschungsreise ins Salzkammergut im Jahre 1762" stellt in erster Linie eine botanische und geologische Erschließung des angegebenen Gebietes in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts durch diesen Wissenschaftler dar. Weitere Aspekte mit denen sich diese Arbeit auseinandersetzt betreffen biografische Angaben zu dem erwähnten Forscher, allgemeine Grundlagen der Kräuter(heil)kunde, das Selbstverständnis der Mediziner im 18.<br />Jahrhundert und die Einstellung zur Gesundheit in dieser Zeit. Ebenso werden Beobachtungen, die sich mit der Geologie auseinandersetzen,dargestellt. In diesem Zusammehang wird dem Salz besondere Beachtung geschenkt. Ausgehend von der nationalen und der internationalen Situation der Salzwirtschaft in allgemeinen Zügen, bis hin zur speziellen Darstellung der Situation im Salzkammergut, wird dieses umfangreiche Thema zumindest überblicksmäßig behandelt. Der Versuch, Johann Baptist Bohadsch als Naturforscher seiner Zeit darzustellen, ist auch unternommen worden. Von erwähnenswertem Interesse sind sicherlich auch die Beobachtungen Bohadsch' in Bezug auf Wirtschaftsformen und sozialhistorische Gegebenheiten dieser Region. Die Erkenntnisse, die er aus dieser Reise gewonnen hat, waren zwar nicht von bahnbrechender, sensationeller Neuartigkeit, dennoch hat er Wissenswertes über eine bestimmte Weichtiergruppe, nämlich das Dentalium operculatum, eine bestimmte Veronica-Art und nicht zu vergessen das Ausseer-Salz herausgefunden. Besonders hervorzuheben ist in diesem Kontext auch sein umfassendes Wissen, das die Forschungsergebnisse anderer Wissenschaftler betrifft. Einen weiteren Teil der Arbeit stellt die historisch kritische Edition der Quelle und die Einbeziehung eines kritischen Briefes des damaligen Hofarztes Gerard van Swieten, diesen Reisebericht betreffend, dar. Man kann Johann Baptist Bohadsch sicherlich als einen Wegbereiter der geologischen und biologischen Erforschung des Salzkammergutes sehen und als solcher darf er keinesfalls in Vergessenheit geraten.<br />

eng: This thesis called "Johann Baptist Bohadsch and the natural historical results of his expedition to the Salzkammergut in the year of 1762" presents first and foremeost a botanical and geological opening up of the mentioned area in the second half of the 18th century by that scientist. Additional aspects concern a general basis of the herbal medicine, the way physicians saw themselves in the 18th century and the attitude towards health. As well are observations depicted concerning geology. In connection with that salt will be paid attention. Starting at the national and international importance of salt there will also be a special look at the situation in the Austrian Salzkammergut.It was attempted to find out the significance of Johann Baptist Bohadsch as a scientist of the 18th century. Worth mentioning are his observations concerning economic system and social historical facts in that area. The results he won during that expedition were not of sensational novelty nevertheless he found out things worth knowing about a species of mollusc (the dentalium operculatum), a species of Veronica and last but not least the salt of Aussee. He also knew a lot about the scientific research results of other scientists. A further part of the work is the presentation of the historical critical edition of the handwritten source and the inclusion of a letter by the physician of the imperial court Gerard van Swieten, stating his view about that expedition. Johann Baptist Bohadsch paved the way for the geological and botanical exploration of the Austrian Salzkammergut and because of that he must not be forgotten.
