The results, which can be compared with some results of Werner Koenig's 'Atlas zur Aussprache des Schriftdeutschen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland', show that the German pronunciation dictionaries (e.g. 'Siebs') are not able to deal with the great variability of pronunciation use within the German speaking countries.
