eng: Part I of the dissertation is a discussion of theories of migration, part II deals with Austrian migrants in Great Britain, who went to GB in the years after 1945, many of them are still living in GB. This part is introduced by a description of the reasons for their migration. Thus Austria was a sending country after 1945, and Austria has been a target country for migration as from 1960. The main part of the dissertation describes and analyses the legal aspects of migration to GB and Austria respectively and points out the interests in migration and the role of both political parties and interest-groups (e.g. Social Partnership in Austria). One important aspect is the countries way of immigration policy (immigration regulation and aliens control; immigrants policy). Thus one of the results is that both countries with 'permanent migration' and countries with 'guest-worker system' have developed similar methods of controlling migrants and migration. (Author).
