eng: The thesis deals with the documentation and investigation of the structural periods of the Cumanin Camii by the means of building research. The complex, originally main church of Antalya, is built up by re-used material, originating from at least four ancient buildings: A late Hellenistic Doric structure, the Aniketos-Monopteros, dating from the 2nd century A.D., a stoa of the Roman agora and another rich decorated structure. The original church, a timber-roofed structure of the cruciform type inscribed in a square, shows rich decorative work with intense reference to antiquity. The church may be dated into the late fifth century. In the second building period its four corner rooms were covered by cross-vaults. Subsequently in the third period the construction of the naos was reinforced and vaulted to create a cross- domed church. It dates presumably from the 8th century, though there is also an option for the 10th. In the fourth period the structure is supplemented by a cruciform annex in front of the main entrance, which seems to derive from the crusaders stop at Antalya in 1148. The collapse of the dome caused the reconstruction of the fifth period, which changed the central plan into a timber-roofed basilica. It was likely built in the 13th century. After various small alterations the conversion into a mosque followed in the seventh period. A minaret was added in the 16th century. Since a fire destroyed the roof in the 19th century the monument is in decay. Its supra-regional historical and art historical values call for preservation of the monument.
