ger: 'Musik und Politik in Kuba seit 1959' analysiert die policy- und politics-Aspekte kubanischer Musik und Musikpolitik seit 1959. Einerseits werden aus politikwissenschaftlicher und musiksoziologischer Perspektive ideologische wie institutionelle Entwicklungen und Aspekte des Verhaeltnisses Politik zu Musik (von Arbeitsverhaeltnisse der Musiker bis Zensur)untersucht. Andererseits werden Bedingungen des Musikschaffens, bzw. die Situation der Musiker gegenueber der Politik analysiert. Besonderes Augenmerk hierbei gilt einigen exemplarischen regimenahen und regimekritischen, zensurierten Liedtexten, die im Original und in deutscher Uebersetzung praesentiert und kommentiert werden.

eng: 'Policy and Politics of Music in Cuba after 1959' provides an overview on aspects of polity, policy and politics of music in Cuba after 1959. On the one hand the author analyzes ideological and institutional aspects of the relations between the revolutionary Cuban Regime and its Music. On the other hand he looks into the conditions of musical creation as well as the overall situation of the individual musician within the political system. Particular interest is given to some lyrics of pro- and anti-regime (censored) songs, which are presented in both the original and a German translation.
