520 |a Die künftigen Herausforderungen und Aufgaben der Kulturwissenschaften können nur vor dem Hintergrund der geschichtlichen Betrachtung ihrer Sprach- und Medienbegriffe sichtbar und entsprechend formuliert werden. Diese Betrachtung lässt jedoch die Gegenüberstellung von Sprache und Technik und damit eine Reihe von Oppositionen fraglich erscheinen (Materialität vs. Immaterialität, Natur vs. Kultur, Ereignis vs. Maschine, Leib vs. Sprache).Die Leitfrage des Bandes zielt daher auf Verflechtungen der Begriffe von Sprachlichkeit und Medialität, die diese in einem differenzierteren Licht zeigen. Hierbei wird der begriffsgeschichtliche, analytische und systematische Bogen von antiken über romantische und moderne bis zu zeitgenössischen Sprachbegriffen und ihren medialen Indizes gespannt.
