520 |a »Wie die Frösche um den Teich« - das moderne Bild der »griechischen Kolonisation« ist das Resultat einer doppelten Konstruktion: Die erste Ebene ist das antike Wissen selbst, das Phänomen der vom Ägäisraum ausgehenden punktuellen Besiedelung der Mittel- und Schwarzmeerküsten zwischen dem 8. und 6. Jahrhundert v. Chr. Seine Überreste wurden dann auf der modernen zweiten Ebene zum historischen Objekt verarbeitet: der »griechischen Kolonisation«.Martin Mauersberg geht der Entwicklung des Wissens auf beiden Ebenen nach. Er ermittelt seine zeitbezogenen Bedingtheiten und somit auch, inwieweit die antiken Quellen Basis einer historischen Rekonstruktion sein können.
