This book shows that debates on the old and the new, battles related to the audience or the ambivalences of image communication were and continue to be carried out as battles over aesthetic education. No social space appears to be exempt from this, as essays on church services, on the window display or on palliative care units make evident. In the process, it becomes clear that no education is as intensive as the education in the exposure to culture and aesthetics. For this reason, these confrontations are carried out with such force. | ||

In den Arenen Ästhetischer Bildung stehen nicht nur Künste, Machtverhältnisse und wissenschaftliche Legitimationsmuster, sondern vor allem Menschen und ihre Bildungsprozesse auf dem Spiel. Dieser Band zeigt auf, dass die Debatten um die alte und die neue Kunst, die Diskussionen um die Zuschauer oder die Ambivalenzen der Bildkommunikation als Kämpfe um Ästhetische Bildung geführt wurden und werden. Kein sozialer Ort scheint hierbei ausgenommen, wie Beiträge zum Gottesdienst, zum Schaufenster oder zu Palliativstationen verdeutlichen. Dabei zeigt sich, dass die Bildung im Umgang mit Kultur und Ästhetik tiefgreifende Wirkungen haben kann. Deshalb werden diese Auseinandersetzungen um die Ästhetische Bildung so heftig geführt. | ||
