Als Fallbeispiel dienen drei Zeugnisse der deutschen Literatur- und Filmgeschichte: das mittelalterliche »Nibelungenlied«, Thea von Harbous Roman »Das Nibelungenbuch« (1923) und Fritz Langs zweiteiliger Film »Die Nibelungen« (1924).
