Against the backdrop of its pop-cultural normalization, pornography is often hotly debated. At the same time, the phenomenon of hardcore pornography has been insufficiently tackled from a social-theoretical perspective. Instead of rehearsing fruitless moral debates, Sven Lewandowski poses the question of the relation of modern society with its pornography in a new way. From sociological, psychoanalytic, systems theoretical perspectives, he shows that pornography lives off latent significative content and both drives and reflects the transformation of the sexual. Über Pornographie wird gerade vor dem Hintergrund ihrer popkulturellen Normalisierung heftig gestritten. Zugleich mangelt es aber bislang an einer gesellschaftstheoretischen Durchdringung des Phänomens der zeitgenössischen Hardcore-Pornographie.Anstatt fruchtlose moralische Debatten fortzuspinnen, stellt Sven Lewandowski die Frage nach dem Verhältnis der modernen Gesellschaft zu 'ihrer' Pornographie auf neue Weise. Aus soziologischen, psychoanalytischen und systemtheoretischen Perspektiven zeigt er, dass Pornographie von latenten Bedeutungsgehalten lebt und den Wandel des Sexuellen sowohl reflektiert als auch vorantreibt.
