Caspar Battegays Essay geht diesem Spiel mit Figuren des Jüdischen in einer Auswahl ganz unterschiedlicher Filme, TV-Serien, Songs und Texte nach. Dabei wird nicht nur ein neuer Forschungsbereich für die Jüdischen Studien in Deutschland erschlossen - auch die Theorie der Popkultur wird um die bislang vernachlässigte Dimension des Jüdischen bereichert.

Even Judaism appears in the pop culture of the 20th and 21st century not as something solid, but as a malleable figure in a play which is constantly being restaged. Caspar Battegay's essay looks into this play of figures of Jewishness in a selection of extremely diverse films, TV series, songs and texts.
