The expansion of the concept of style has its roots in the diversity of theories on the subject and the different language elements to which style is ascribed. Alongside the print media, a whole plethora of other sectors clamor for attention, including the electronic media and oral as much as written utterances. This calls for perspectives no longer limited to traditional stylistics and text linguistics but extending to sociolinguistics, conversation analysis, pragmatics, LSP research and translation studies. This situation shows the necessity for discussion on the present state of research and future research issues in connection with style as a semiotic, cultural, and social phenomenon. This situation shows the necessity for discussion on the present state of research and future research issues in connection with style as a semiotic, cultural, and social phenomenon.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="530" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Issued also in print.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="538" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Mode of access: Internet via World Wide Web.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">In German.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Description based on online resource; title from PDF title page (publisher's Web site, viewed 28.
