The commentary on the 64 hymns takes a paradigmatic view of Reißner's hymn corpus, indicating how the traditions governing the various types of hymn and the melodies to which they were set (including medieval traditions, the Tenorlied, and the Bohemian Brothers) were transmitted by the Schwenckfeld hymn book. With reference to parallel corpora and individual instances of transmission, the commentary also traces the reception accorded to the texts and melodies of these 64 hymns as far as the 18th century. | ||
| 520 | |a Walther Lipphardt hat bei der Entdeckung (1965) der Augsburger Handschrift von Adam Reißners schwenckfeldischem Gesangbuch den außerordentlichen Wert dieses ältesten und autornächsten Überlieferungszeugen (1554) für die Hymnologie erkannt. Um diese melodie- und textgeschichtliche Zimelie allgemein zugänglich zu machen, entschloß sich die UB Augsburg zu einer Faksimilierung. Im Kommentar zu den 64 Liedern werden erstmals die Melodien dieses Gesangbuchs ediert und in die Liedtradition (u.a. Mittelalter, Tenorlied, Böhmische Brüder) eingeordnet. Damit wird die Erforschung des einstimmigen geistlichen Liedes im 16. Jahrhundert (und darüber hinaus) auf eine neue Materialgrundlage gestellt. Anhand von Parallelkorpora und Einzelüberlieferungen verfolgt der Kommentar zudem die Text- und Melodierezeption der 64 Lieder bis ins 18. Jahrhundert. Neben einer Typologie der Liedtexte und Liedquellen bemüht sich die Kommentierung um eine Verortung der geistlichen Lieder im zeitgenössischen und theologischen Kontext. Dazu dienen einleitende Kapitel zu Adam Reißner und zur schwenckfeldischen Theologie. | ||
