Die chirurgische Anatomie des weiblichen Beckens ist komplex. Für jeden gynäkologischen Chirurgen ist neben der Topographie auch die funktionelle Anatomie von großer Bedeutung: So weiß er, welche Gefäße für die Blutversorgung lebenswichtiger Strukturen erhalten werden müssen und welche Nervenstrukturen für die Funktion der Hohlorgane und damit die postoperative Lebensqualität geschont werden müssen.
