520 |a Die bibliographische Erfassung deutschsprachiger Wörterbücher des 17. Jahrhunderts war bisher ein dringendes Forschungsdesiderat. Das vorliegende Werk ist ein Versuch, sämtliche Ausgaben der selbständig und unselbständig erschienenen Lexika der Jahre 1600 bis 1700 zu inventarisieren, mit Transkriptionen der Titelblätter, Bibliotheksangaben, Hinweisen auf die Sekundärliteratur und Informationen über den Inhalt der Wörterbücher. Obwohl primär die deutschsprachige Lexikographie verzeichnet wird, beschreibt die Bibliographie außerdem viele mehrsprachige Wörterbücher, die ca. 30 andere Sprachen mit einbeziehen. Mit 1.150 größtenteils auf Autopsie beruhenden Einträgen bildet dieses international konzipierte Werk bei einer Vielfalt von sprachgeschichtlichen, sprachpädagogischen und bibliographischen Fragestellungen eine neue, besonders ergiebige Quelle.
