| 520 | |a „Von Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe“ war das Motto einer weitgehend in Vergessenheit geratenen deutsch-jüdischen Selbsthilfeorganisation in Stockholm, zeitweise nach der Stockholmer Gemeinde die zweitgrößte jüdische Organisation in Stockholm bzw. die größte der Emigration in Schweden. Sie wurde 1938 als „Emigranten-Selbsthilfe“ von deutsch-jüdischen Flüchtlingen gegründet und existierte bis 1964. Weitgehend aus eigener Kraft gelang es ihr, ein effizientes Migranten-Netzwerk zu bilden, die Identität der Zielgruppe zu stärken, sie die Beschwerden des Alltags vergessen zu lassen, ihr Mut zum Weiterleben zu geben und erfolgreich bei der Integration ins neue Umfeld zu helfen. Zudem bereicherte die Emigranten-Selbsthilfe durch Vorträge, Musikveranstaltungen und Theateraufführungen das Kulturleben der Stadt Stockholm. Die Geschichte der Organisation wird hier erstmalig anhand von Dokumenten wie Rechenschaftsberichten, Rundschreiben, Programmen, Berufslisten, Korrespondenzen u.a. vorgestellt. | ||
