520 | |a Certainty about the unavoidability of death and about having to die on the one hand and uncertainty about life after death on the other are characteristics of our existence that have led to a wealth of cultural responses since time immemorial. The contributions in this volume examine engagements in language with the topics of death and dying, which have been largely ignored in linguistic research to date.
