Den strukturellen Rahmen dieses Bandes bilden (1) systematische Überlegungen zur methodischen und theoretischen Ausdifferenzierung der Religionslinguistik. Er vereint (2) empirische Analysen zeitgenössischer Diskurse auf der einen Seite und (3) Anwendungsbeispiele in sprachhistorischer Orientierung innerhalb des Arbeitsfeldes Sprache und Religion auf der anderen Seite für eine Religionslinguistik, die sich als Aspekt einer Transzendenzlinguistik versteht und Religion als anthropologisches Konstituens auffasst. Der Band nimmt mithin Sprachgebräuche sowie politische und kulturelle Praxen – um nur einige zentrale Gegenstände zu nennen – in den Blick, die auf Transzendenz(en) fokussieren.
